Short Hike at Wadi Degla Protectorate

We will be meeting on Friday DECEMBER 16 at 7:30 AM at EL MADRASA’s Maadi premises and moving by maximum 7:45 AM, ETA at Wadi Degla main gate: 8:00 AM. You may join us directly over there if you know how to reach it.

We will be going uphill then return through the Wadi, with a break before the descent (midway), and are expected to be back at 11:30 AM at Wadi Degla main gate.

Wadi Degla Protectorate is an exceptional site due to its geological past (some explanations will be given) and also because of its proximity to Cairo.

You will need with you:

1. ID Card
2. Suitable shoes (resistant – avoid tennis)
3. Small bottle of water and some snacks (we have some more with us but this is a must.)

If weather is clear blue sky:

1. Cap
2. Sunglasses
3. Sunscreen (sensitive skins)

Weather is expected to be rather clear, but cold.

In any case, it is advised to avoid wearing shorts (very small possibility of snake bites, but our medic is prepared for that in any case).
