CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Pneumonia Vaccination Awareness Campaign
November 26, 2011 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
FreeCall for Volunteers: Pneumonia(*) Vaccination Awareness Campaign
AHMOSE, in cooperation with EMSA (Egyptian Medical Students’ Association), will be conducting an Awareness Campaign targeting some of the poor populations of Cairo, that will prepare the ground for a mass-vaccination operation to prevent pneumonia(*) among children.
You can help, but you need to receive a short training before joining the campaign.
We will hold a TRAINING SESSION for volunteers, on Saturday 19th and Saturday 26th NOVEMBER at 12 PM in our MAADI Headquarters, which lasts for about an hour.
During these sessions our doctors will be forming volunteers on how to inform the people on the dangers of pneumonia(*) and the high importance of vaccination. Pneumonia is very easily prevented if the right awareness is provided and the bad habits are modified.
For more information please send us an email to ahmose.volunteers@gmail.com or call us on 011 46 310 310.
(*) From Wikipedia: PNEUMONIA is an inflammatory condition of the lung associated with fever, chest symptoms, and a lack of air space. In the third world, and among the very old, the very young and the chronically ill, pneumonia remains a leading cause of death. It particularly affects and causes the death of young children who are in poorly developed areas.
